Preschool at St. Raphael
Led by Preschool Director Kathy Ralston, the St. Raphael Archangel Catholic School has a Pre-K program and a 3 year old program for children that have turned 4 by August 1 for Pre-K and children that have turned 3 by August 1. Our preschool classrooms are located on the lower level of St. Raphael School and are outfitted with a variety of toys and tools for creative, play-based learning.
We recognize all children learn and develop in different ways. Our Preschool/Pre-K program is designed to nurture each child’s unique nature and prepare them for success as they begin their educational journeys. Research has shown that play-based learning is essential to a child’s development as a whole person. A play-oriented classroom is one that is able to incorporate discovery, problem-solving, problem-finding, cooperation, persistence, oral language, and creativity successfully into its curriculum. At St. Raphael, our goal is to ignite the curiosity within your child in a faith-filled environment, while giving them the skills they need to transition on to Kindergarten. Our methods are based in science, but your child will only see fun.
Preschool 3s Program:
St. Raphael’s Preschool 3's program provides an environment that helps develop the child to think constructively and independently. We encourage learning through play which challenges children intellectually, socially, and physically. Throughout the week your child will be introduced to Spanish, Music and Catholic beliefs through our Catechesis of the Good Shepherd program. We develop the whole child which provides a strong foundation for your child's educational journey.
Pre-K 4s Program:
Our PreK program is designed to continue building on your child’s prior knowledge and learning experiences through a combination of self-directed and guided play. With small teacher-student ratios, your child will continue to gain the knowledge and skills necessary to be prepared for Kindergarten. Our goal is to challenge the student to explore and think more independently through the centers and activities provided daily. Your child will continue to experience Spanish, Music, and develop a better understanding of the Catholic beliefs and rituals through our Catechesis of the Good Shepherd program.
